What a busy week we have had in our Primary Department! We started with 1M boldly leading us with reciting the school theme verse for the year, Philippians 4:4-7 and then we all enthusiastically embraced the week, rising to challenge and engaging with our learning.

Stage 2 Multicultural Day

This term, Stage 2 have been learning about Celebrations and Commemorations. As part of this unit they have explored their cultural heritage and have spent time learning about the cultures of other students in their class. A highlight of their unit was a Multicultural Celebration Day. This took place on Tuesday, 21st March, and the students had a fabulous time tasting all the different dishes, designing flags and playing games from each other’s cultural background. Thank you to all the parents who helped prepare such delicious food for everyone to share!

Infants Swimming Fun Day

What an amazing day we had at Stockton Pool on Tuesday for our Infants Swimming Fun Day. It was so encouraging to see our young students rising to challenge and applying new skills to swimming, novelty races and tug of war. It was lovely to have the Stage 5 Sport class join us for the event and our Infants students loved having them support them in their swimming events. A big thank you goes to all the parents who came to watch and help with the day. We love having our whole school community together.

Wellbeing Wednesday

We had a great day on Wednesday engaging with our Primary Department’s first Wellbeing Wednesday. Our students engaged with learning experiences planned around the following acronym:

Meditation (on the Word of God and prayer)

Exercise

Diet

Sleep

Our students learned strategies to help look after their physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing and they were encouraged to use these strategies for the rest of their life to help them be more resilient and to live the life that God has planned for them to the full. We finished the day enjoying a picnic lunch together as a whole school and enjoying some cold creamy ice-cream.

INFANTS PARENTS - for those who love to run, we would love you to join in with your child’s class and jog along with them. The more hands (and feet) we have out there, the better it will be.

What to Bring: hat, water bottle, a little extra food for the day, sunscreen and insect repellent preferably APPLIED AT HOME BEFORE SCHOOL.

What to Wear: Sports Uniform and running shoes. Don't forget your school hat.

I wish all our families a restful weekend.
