In this week's sports news, we thank our Year 9 and 10 Sports and Exercise Science students, a request for all students to take their mountain bikes home before the holidays and more success in Equestrian!
Stage 5 Sports Science Helpers
On Tuesday, some of our Year 9 and 10 students from our Sports and Exercise Science elective class had the opportunity to attend the Infants Pool Fun Day and assist with the organisation and supervision of our Prep, Kindy, Year 1 and 2 students at Stockton Pool. In a day that was designed to allow the Infants children an opportunity to conquer some of their pool fears, Stage 5’s enthusiastically entered the pool and engaged with the Infants students as they swam in front of a cheering crowd of adoring, photo-happy fans (their parents and family).
I would like to thank every member of our Sports and Exercise Science team for engaging so enthusiastically in the day. Our Infants students loved you and you made the staff at MCS very, very proud.
Mountain Biking (MTB) Opportunities Galore
Medowie Christian School’s MTB Program has continued to provide an exciting opportunity for our students to explore this unique school sport experience on our very own mountain bike track at school, during school hours. Children from Kindergarten to Year 12 have had the opportunity to enjoy mountain biking during our lunchtime bike club and through Wednesday Sport, and in a couple of weeks students from our Secondary school will be off to Thredbo to enjoy some very serious flow and downhill tracks.
Elouise Grills - Equestrian
Our equestrian team is going from strength to strength with another one of our students performing excellently at the Central Coast dressage competition. Elouise partnered with her horse, Sisco, to win the champion youth rider in the preliminary level. Congratulations Elouise and Sisco!
Bike Shed Holiday Clean Out - STRICTLY No Bike Storage Over the Holidays!
Over the holidays, the school’s bike shed will need an autumn clean-out. While it’s convenient for the students to be able to leave their bike at school overnight, we will need all bikes to go home after Sport on Wednesday 5th April. Bikes should get a service and a clean at home, so we’re ready to go again for Term 2.
Please see the school website for all of our sports information. https://www.mcs.nsw.edu.au/sport/
