Our Culture of Community - Wellbeing Wednesday

This Wednesday was a wonderful opportunity for our whole school community to intentionally take some time to focus on our Wellbeing. Our Secondary community:

  • participated in Elevate Education study sessions, investing time thinking about their individual strengths as they completed the VIA Youth Strengths survey,

  • joined together for some Tricky Trivia delivered by our Student Leadership Team,

  • shared an ice cream with their Primary friends and

  • finished the day with some inflatable fun.

Whilst we are continuing to build and strengthen our approach to culture and community here at MCS, it was encouraging to see so many of our young men and women encourage, serve and support one another on our first Wellbeing Wednesday for the year. Thank you to our staff and students for being involved and contributing positively towards this opportunity and the building of our community.

Secondary Assessments

As we work towards the end of term, with only a few weeks remaining before the Term 1 break, many learners have coming up, or have had, assessment/s tasks due for their various courses. Earlier in the term an Assessment Schedule was shared with each learner and their family, outlining details around task due date and task weighting. Please email the school at medowie@acc.edu.au if you did not receive, or are unable to access, this and we can arrange to share this with you.

Please note, in these documents are instructions for students to follow if they miss a task. For all students, if they miss a task due to illness or unforeseen circumstance, there is an Illness Misadventure (IM) form that is required to help support the provision of an extension, alternative task or task estimate. Learners are required to lead this process by completing the IM form and submitting this to their classroom teacher.

For students who miss a task without any reasonable explanation an ‘Academic Letter of Concern’ may be emailed home to make sure families are aware a task has been missed. Our aim is to work with you and your child to help ensure the task is completed and they receive the results for their efforts.

All the best to our Secondary community as you continue to work on the completion of set assessments and demonstrate all that you have learnt throughout Term 1.
