T2, Week 1
Welcome to Term 2! It has been great to be able to catch up with the students and get ready for another big term in sport.
Wednesday Sport
Sport will commence in Week 2 for both our Primary and Secondary schools. Please make sure you know what sport you are in and what equipment you will need for your chosen sport. Just a reminder that hats are compulsory and you will need them to participate in sport.
Gala Days
Our Gala days begin in Week 4 of term with our Primary and Secondary Futsal teams, and our senior Netball teams playing during this week. Please keep an eye out for the team lists which will be released shortly. Training times will also be announced with the teams.
Athletics Carnival
Week 5 is our Athletics Carnival at Kindlebark Oval in Medowie. Parents are more than welcome to attend and cheer on our students on this great day. The Eagles came away victorious last year, so it will require a big effort from the other houses to knock them off the top step. If your child is interested in attempting to represent at HRIS in the 800m, the 1500m, or the javelin (for Secondary), they will need to nominate for this event as they will be run on a different day to the carnival. The nomination form will be released shortly and will need to be completed by Thursday in Week 4 (23rd May) to enable participation in these events.
Equestrian News
Congratulations to Annika, Elouise and Indira who competed at the Equestrian NSW State Interschool Championships during the school holidays. Indira was successful in making the State team and Annika made the Reserve State team. A big congratulations ladies!
