T2, Week 1

Welcome to a new term, full of new learning, new friendships and lots of opportunities. This term has started with a bang…excursions and fun times catching up with friends, with learning beginning from Day One. We had Equestrian begin for the term, a HSC Music Day, our Ag students headed off to Tocal Field Day, Year 12 reports were published to families and our Chess Team won Round 2 of our competition. Congratulations to Jack, Lucas, Raphael and Isaac who were victorious on the day.

Chapel

This week in Chapel we had the blessing of having Mr Weeks bring our Chapel message to begin our term. He shared a snapshot of what a Christian life looks like - faith, hope, and love. Through a personal encounter with Jesus, we develop faith. Through this faith comes a deep hope that what Jesus said he would do, he has done. Through both this faith and hope, we develop a deeper love of Jesus and who He is, which then flows on out of our hearts and actions as we learn how to deeply love others.

Bible Study

Secondary students are invited to come along to Bible Study on Fridays during lunchtimes. It is a time to spend time together reading the Word of God, reflecting upon how God wishes the best for us, and continuing learning of the Hope we have in Him.

CareGroup Teachers

Families are reminded that the best person to contact for any questions in Secondary is your child’s CareGroup teacher. Families are welcome to call or email medowie@acc.edu.au.

Real Friends Wellbeing Program

As a part of our Wellbeing program, Year 8 girls will be involved in a program called Real Friends. The program teaches the young ladies real-life skills to support their social well-being. It covers healthy friendships, dealing with gossip, communication styles, resolving conflict, managing emotions, safe use of technology and social media, and support networks. We are looking forward to seeing this program reach our young women.

Assessment/Homework Help

Assessment Help is starting up again next week and all Secondary learners are invited to come along and get some help with tasks on Mondays and Thursdays during lunchtimes in M25.
