T3, Week 1

Welcome to Term 3

Congratulations to our Secondary students for the responsible and mature way in which they have transitioned back into school after the three-week break. It has been wonderful to see them return and reunite with friends. We commend them for the way they have welcomed new students to our community and the learning that has begun so positively.

We appreciate the safe manner in which our young people have engaged with our new carpark routine. I have enjoyed chatting with them as they have arrived and departed from school each day.

Opportunities to Enhance Learning

This term, we launched our Stage 6 Study Centre. This runs to provide a quiet structured environment for Senior students to focus on independent study, complete assessments, prepare for upcoming exams as well as provide additional academic support.

Lunchtime check-ins have commenced, offering students the opportunity to catch up on work or seek support with assessment tasks. Homework Help is also continuing to run during lunch on Mondays and Tuesdays, providing students with extra assistance from the Learning Engagement team or simply a quiet space to study and complete schoolwork.  Please encourage your child to participate in these opportunities.

This term our teachers have introduced some common and consistent teaching strategies to assist your children across all subject areas. I encourage you to ask your child to explain what TAPPLE is, what Engagement Norms are and what the “3-2-1-Focus” is all about as the term progresses.

Poddy Calves

Our babies have arrived! Thank you to our young Agriculturalists who have worked hard at settling our calves into school life, for their endless time spent feeding, coaxing and caring for them. They have now been affectionately named Thing 1 and Thing 2.

Elevate

Year 10, 11 and 12 were involved in their last Elevate session for this year, focusing on exam preparation, writing well-organised study notes and how to stay motivated and end well, in the last term of school for our Year 12 students.
