T2, Week 6

Chapel

Mr Lee challenged us this week with Faith, Hope and Love and how we respond to challenges in our lives when others disappoint us. He reminded us that Faith, Hope and Love are given to us in equal portions, this side of heaven, with each as essential as the others. In heaven, it will be love that will continue forever in increasing amounts.

Romans 5: 3-5 We know that troubles help us learn not to give up.  When we have learned not to give up, it shows we have stood the test. When we have stood the test, it gives us hope. Hope never makes us ashamed because the love of God has come into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Camp

Year 7 - 9 Camp to Stanwell Tops finally arrived! With much anticipation, we headed off on Wednesday and have returned Friday approximately at 5:45 pm. Updates were sent via the Sentral Parent App and we look forward to sharing our stories with you, in person and in the next week's newsletter. Here are a few photos to get us started:

Chess News - Term 2

What a busy term the secondary chess team has had so far.

On Thursday May 2, the team travelled to Glendale to compete in the second round of the NSWJCL against Newcastle Waldorf School. We were victorious on the day, winning 3 games to 1.

We then travelled to ACC Singleton on Monday June 3 to compete in our third round match against Scone Grammar School. Unfortunately we lost on all 4 boards and are now out of the competition for 2024. Special thanks to ACC Singleton for hosting us on the day.

Thank you to all our chess players for 2024: Jack K, Lucas, Raphael, Jack D, Isaac and Ted who represented MCS with integrity and showed great sportsmanship. See you in 2025, until then happy chess playing!

Thank you to the many young people who come to school every day and exemplify a positive attitude towards learning, are kind to others and wear their uniform with pride. We appreciate what you bring to our community.
