T2, Week 6

Year 2 Alice In Wonderland Day

Year 2 enjoyed a fabulous day last Friday celebrating all things Alice In Wonderland. They have spent the term studying fairy tales in English and they demonstrated their new knowledge of this marvellous text by dressing up as Alice In Wonderland characters, participating in Alice in Wonderland learning experiences and partying at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. A big thank you goes to Ms Henderson, Mr Jenkins and Mrs Westbury for organising such an enjoyable day and to the parents for making such wonderful costumes and a delicious morning tea.

Year 3 - 12 Athletics Carnival

While Year 2 enjoyed Wonderland, our Year 3 - Year 6 students enjoyed a day of challenging sporting events at our Athletics Carnival. It was wonderful to see so many students doing their best in the running and field events and the spirit of teamwork was evident everywhere. Congratulations to all the students who gained places in events at the carnival. We look forward to seeing many of you succeed at the HRIS Athletics Carnival next term.

Stage 2 Colonial Learning

Stage 2 has been learning about the early colonisation of Australia this term. Yesterday they prepared for their excursion to Tocal Homestead by learning how to make damper and butter just as it was done in the pioneer days. Look out in future newsletters for some writing and photos from their day at Tocal Homestead.
