T1, Week 3
Lots happening in the Secondary School as the term begins to move along.
Assessments
Families are reminded to keep an eye on the one page summary from the Assessment Schedules, notifications will start to be sent out soon.
Equipment
Secondary students should now have all their required equipment for learning. This includes calculators, a book for most classes, a pencil case with numerous pens, pencils and highlighters and a charged MacBook/iPad. If students do not have a piece of equipment for the day, please email to let teachers know. If you are unsure of the teacher’s email, please use medowie@acc.edu.au and it will be forwarded accordingly.
Secondary Reminders: Phones
A reminder that mobile phones are not to be utilised during school hours. There is much research around the distractibility of phones especially when young people are learning new skills. Whilst technology is very useful and a great way to ensure our children’s location and safety, the absence of phone use during school times is essential for us to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students during these hours. Phones should be stored in their school bags upon arrival at school.
ONSTAGE - Stage 6 Drama Excursion
Last Saturday, our Stage 6 Drama Students were inspired and encouraged as they visited the Seymour Centre in Sydney, to see a sample of the very best 2023 HSC performances, and Independent Projects.
They were able to see both individual student performances and group performances. The creativity and techniques some of the schools had incorporated for their group performances were outstanding. The top HSC Independent Projects ranged from costume design, stage design, video drama, theatre critique, promotions and program designs.

Swimming Carnival
Congratulations to the Secondary students for an outstanding Swimming Carnival! Students were encouraging of each other, spurring each other to do their absolute best. They competed with enthusiasm, had a go at most races (I don't think I have ever seen so many great butterfly-ers in one school) and clapped Year 12 as they competed in their last ever school swimming race.
Thank you to the many Secondary Staff who worked tirelessly for the weeks up to the carnival and for those who did an outstanding job on the day. The carnival ran smoothly due to their organisation, dedication, and heart to see our young people enjoy their day. For more information and photos please see the Sport News.
May you have a blessed rest of the week and please do not hesitate to reach out at anytime.
