Our Culture of Community - Invictus Wellbeing Program

ree

As a part of our ongoing commitment to wellbeing at MCS each student from Year 7 - 10 are enrolled in the Invictus Wellbeing Program. This program seeks to teach students strategies for managing their emotions, help them find purpose and pursue their passions. Each week students are engaged in activities around the Core Elements of Network, Mastery, Journey and Service. Each element has a memory event which is our camp program each year with Year 7 & 8 heading to Lake Macquarie, Year 9 journeying to Coffs Harbour and Year 10/11 students attending a city camp experience at Cockatoo Island. The program recognises student completion of the course with either a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award and is a fantastic extra curricular qualification for our students to attain as they move throughout school.

I look forward to sharing some photos with you soon from our upcoming Invictus Camps.

A Note about Secondary Reports

Throughout Term 2 our Secondary students and families will receive their Semester One Reports. We aim to publish our Year 11 and 12 reports at the start of Week 6, with our Year 7 - 10 reports becoming available in Week 10. The aim of sharing reports with our community is to help move learning forward by encouraging learning discussions at home. Our report comments are structured to discuss a learners’ strengths in a particular course, outline a key area for growth and then provide an actionable next step in learning that we believe will lead to growth. Our teaching team invests significant time in providing this feedback and we hope you find it helpful at home to encourage your child/ren in their learning journey.
