Our Culture of Community - Partnering together

It was wonderful this week to welcome our Year 10 students and families to our Stage 6 Subject Roadshow to hear from our Teaching Staff, TAFE and University regarding possible pathways for future studies here at MCS. As a Secondary community we are appreciative of the support of our community, for the investment of your time with us and your encouragement of what we are doing here at MCS.
It is true that a successful education requires partnership between parents, teachers and students who are committed to working together for the learners' good. This is what we continue to strive for and it is our privilege to be a part of your child’s educational development. Thank you for investing time with us and for being in partnership with us.
Being on Team MCS
I’d just like to take a brief moment to commend our student community on their approach to being a part of the broader team here at MCS. I am grateful for each learner and for the unique gifts and abilities they have been blessed with. We do have a wonderful community and whilst there are still improvements we can make, I’d like to thank our students for the way they have been enhancing their approach to learning, being on time to classes, getting alongside their Teaching Teams, engaging with their Care Teams, wearing their uniform with pride and connecting with one another positively in the playground. Keep up the great work Secondary, this approach only leads to better and brighter things.
Supporting our Children’s Wellbeing
As a parent it is my desire to see my children happy, feeling connected, supported and cared for. At home we try to keep an open dialogue about how they are going each day with their learning, their friends and just managing all that each day presents to them. Sometimes they experience challenges that I have not faced personally, and on many occasions I’m not sure I have the right answer to support them. However, there are so many helpful resources for families to connect with. This week, if you have a young person in your home who is feeling anxious, here is a short tips sheet that may provide you with some further insights and strategies around helping them manage.
