T2, Week 4

An Invitation

At Medowie Christian School, our vision is to build a Biblical foundation in the life of every student, whilst praying that each student has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through helping each student to succeed in whatever God wants them to do.

This vision is further underpinned by a mission to develop students who are equipped spiritually, academically, socially and physically to be a positive influence on the world.

This is the essence of our school as we invite our young people to consider Jesus for themselves. We aim to provide a place to breathe, to think, and to discover who God truly created them to be. We invite our young people not just to believe what they are told, but to investigate, ask questions, explore, and see whether the evidence holds up.

The world can be a place of brokenness, with times of sadness and loneliness. Yet, despite this, there are many moments of beauty, grace and kindness. Through an invitation to consider a personal relationship with Jesus, we desire to help our young people build a worldview that will guide them through the brokenness of life - not as a set of rules to follow, but as a solid ground to stand on while they learn to navigate the world.

Our teenagers are at an age when they are weighing up what the world, their friends, their family and social media tells them. They are impressionable and, with access to infinite amounts of information, can be easily taken down an unhelpful track. We encourage our families to continue discussing faith, belief and values during this time, promoting curiosity and an open heart to Jesus.

Our Chaplain, Miss G Beikoff, is available for any young person or family who has questions about faith or who would like prayer, as we continue to stand together in encouraging our teenagers to consider Jesus for themselves.

Chapel

This term in Secondary Chapel, we have begun an exciting new theme: God’s Intended Design. Together, students are exploring what God’s Word teaches about who we are, what we are made for and the purpose God has lovingly created each of us to live out.

We love seeing our Chapel serve as a blessing for our school community and thank God for a place where students and staff can gather together, grow in faith, encourage one another, and deepen their relationship with Jesus.

We are deeply thankful for the servant heart our Student Leaders and Chapel Band display as they continue to share, organise and oversee the running of our services.

Year 10 Work Experience

Work experience is an integral part of our Senior Secondary program, which provides our Year 10 students with the opportunity to participate in a one-week work placement during Term 4.

This week, our Year 10 students have received their Work Experience paperwork package. The package includes all the key information and dates regarding this placement.

To ensure a successful Work Experience program, we ask families to actively support our Year 10 students in researching and securing their placements. Early conversations about career interests and potential industries can help students find a role that truly resonates with them.

We are aiming to finalise and submit to Mrs Billett all paperwork by the end of Term 2. We look forward to seeing our students explore these professional opportunities with proactive curiosity.

For any further enquiries, please contact Mrs Billett.
