T3, Week 8
Grandparent’s Day
We warmly invite all our MCS Grandparents to join us for a very special Grandparent’s morning.
When: Thursday, 26th September
Time: 9:30am - 12:30pm
Grandparents are invited to enjoy morning tea, spend time in our students’ classrooms sharing learning experiences with their grandchildren and then share worship with us in a very special Grandparent’s Chapel Service. Please park in the MCS and Overflow Church car parks and sign in at the office on arrival. We look forward to having you all join us! Please note students will return to normal lessons at 12:30pm.

Stage 3 Excursion - The Wild Robot
On Friday 20th September, Stage 3 visited the local cinema to watch The Wild Robot. In Term One, this text was our focus English Concepts text. The students thoroughly enjoyed this multimodal experience and found great value in being able to critique and compare both versions of the narrative. Thank you to Scotty's for taking such good care of us and for the students, who displayed our MCS Core Values.

Infants STEM - Ozobot
During lessons on Tuesday this week students in Year 1 and 2 were presented with a ‘mystery item’ to ponder over. Students were quickly surprised and excited to discover that this tiny mystery was an actual Robot called “Ozobot - Evo”. The lesson was alight with sounds of wonder and discovery as the children located a button, lights turned on and wheels made noises. We are looking forward to discovering more about the Ozobots during Term 4!

School Uniform
Thank you to all our families who are assisting your children to wear the correct school uniform. This is an important part of being a member of the MCS community and preparing our students to have a mindset ready to learn. Please note that on Fridays our Primary community meet for Chapel and Assembly and are required to wear their formal uniform for these occasions. Students are not permitted to wear their Sport uniform to school on Fridays. If there are any issues with your child wearing the correct uniform please email their class teacher and also medowie@acc.edu.au. For all information pertaining to School Uniform, please refer to the Whole School News.

Primary Assembly and Chapel
Primary Chapel is held on Friday during odd weeks of the term and Primary Assembly is held on even weeks during the term. Primary Awards are presented at Assembly to students who have performed in an outstanding way academically or have been serving the MCS community, and classes take it in turns to share some of the excellent work they have been doing with the rest of the school community. Parents are warmly invited to both Chapel and Assembly which are held in The Lighthouse beginning at 2:15pm.
