Happy Mother’s Day
MCS Primary Department would like to wish all our mums, nanas, grandmas, aunties and other special ladies a very happy Mother’s Day this Sunday! We are so blessed to have you in our lives and are so grateful for all the special things that you do for us. We wish you all of God’s blessings on your special day. May you know that you are loved greatly by your children.
Athletics Carnival

Congratulations to all our Stage 2 and 3 students who competed in the Athletics Carnival yesterday! It was exciting to see our students out and about giving each event their best effort. I was very impressed with the new field event skills that our students were demonstrating as well as their speed and endurance in the running events. It was obvious that they had been working hard to develop these skills in their PE classes. It was also lovely to have so many families join us for the day to cheer their children on in the events and celebrate their achievements. Thank you to Mr Hallett and Mrs Patton for organising such a great day, and thank you God for such wonderful weather!
Kindergarten Excursion To Hunter Valley Wildlife Park
Kindergarten enjoyed an exciting excursion today to Hunter Valley Wildlife Park as part of their Integrated Unit and studies about the unique features of Australia, especially our wildlife. A great day was had by all as the students explored the park, engaged in a scavenger hunt and learned all about our unique Australian animals, their habitats, and how it is so important that we help protect them from extinction.
Winter Uniform
Thank you to all the families who have sent their child to school this week in Winter Uniform. Our Primary students were dressed beautifully and this helps them to have a mindset ready to learn. Just a reminder that the school broadbrim hat is a compulsory part of the Primary School Uniform all year round and students are asked to bring them to school each day and wear them whenever they are in the playground. All students are permitted to wear a watch; girls are permitted to wear one pair of plain stud or sleeper earrings and a flat signet ring. All other jewellery should be kept for use at home. We ask that students who have collar length hair wear it tied back.
Primary Chapel and Assembly
Primary Chapel and Assembly take place on alternate Friday’s in the Lighthouse. Our start time has changed to 2:15pm, with an expected conclusion around 3:00pm. We warmly invite all our parents to join us for these events.
Chapel - odd weeks of the term (26-May, 9-Jun, 23-Jun)
Assembly - even weeks of the term (19-May, 2-Jun, 16-Jun)
I wish everyone a fun and restful weekend with your families.

Regards,
Mrs T Wright Baker
Head of Primary
