BYOD Parent Information:

Thank you to all who attended the Parent Connect last night, where we discussed the implementation of BYOD (Apple) at MCS commencing in 2024. A copy of the slide deck for the evening can be found below:

Please note that all families will be offered the opportunity to purchase your child’s current device (in its current state). This offer will be Round 1 and made in early Term 3 (see costing on slide deck). Parents should note/be aware of their child’s grade in 2024 to ensure the current device will be suitable/usable. As discussed last night, Years 11 and 12 (2024) families will be contacted with details of arrangements for these classes during the transition period of 2024 and 2025. The FAQ sheet is available below to assist our families. Any families who have further questions, can email byodmedowie@acc.edu.au in order for the school to get back to you and help with your circumstances.

MCS Uniforms (online):

MCS is wanting to know if there have been any problems with uniform orders to ensure you get the best possible service and our children can look wonderful in their uniform. I have the following message from Alinta: ‘If MCS families have any problems with ordering or sizing please ask families to call our customer service line and speak to Caitlin, who is wonderful, on 02 4321 0433. Families can call for advice, using the back to school vouchers, to ask about sizing etc. Kind regards, The Alinta Team’

NAPLAN 2023

This year the NAPLAN administration window was moved to occur earlier in the year during Term 1. We have now been informed that Parent reports are expected to be available from early Term 3.

There have also been some changes in the way that this information will be reported. From this year NAPLAN results will be reported against four proficiency standards rather than numerical bands as in previous years.

These are now

  • Exceeding

  • Strong

  • Developing

  • Needs additional support.

The new reporting standards are intended to provide parents, carers and teachers with simpler and clearer information about how students are performing.

Active Fun - After School Soccer Program

We would like to thank the MCS community for supporting our after school soccer program. It has been a great success with classes running on Monday and Thursday. The improvement in the children’s skills and confidence has been amazing, and we love seeing the smiling faces throughout the sessions. We had so much fun during Term 1 and look forward to sessions in Term 2. We have rebranded to Active Fun. Same coaches, same program! Just a new name with new colours.

To register, fill in the form:

See you on the pitch!

Coach Melanie
