Welcome To Term 2
We would like to welcome all our Primary families to Term 2! It was so lovely to see all our students arriving for school on Wednesday looking refreshed from the holidays and with many of them dressed in their Winter Uniforms. We look forward to all the exciting learning that will take place this term.
ANZAC Commemorations
Thank you to our Primary Student Leaders and our Primary students and families who represented MCS at the Medowie Community ANZAC March and Dawn Service on Tuesday. It was very encouraging to see so many of our students and families up early to remember the sacrifices that men and women have made in the past to enable us to live in a free country. It was also lovely to begin Term 2 with our MCS ANZAC Service. Our choirs performed beautifully, our guest speaker, Flight Lieutenant Nadine Gallaway, spoke inspirationally and our Primary Student Leaders facilitated the service with great commitment and respect. This is such a special occasion each year as we honour the defence families in our school community.
Parent/Teacher Interviews
Parent/Teacher Interviews will take place in the MPC next Tuesday 3rd, and Wednesday 4th, May from 3:30pm - 7:30pm. We encourage all parents to come along and connect with their child’s teacher to hear how their child is progressing with their learning so far this year. Interviews will run for 10 minutes and can be booked through the Sentral Parent Portal App.
Mothers’ Day Stall
Primary students will be given the opportunity to visit a Mothers’ Day stall at school next Friday, 5th May. Each class will have a scheduled time throughout the day for their visit. Small gifts will be available for $3 - $5. Please send a modest amount of cash with your child on the day if you would like them to purchase a gift.
Kindergarten Excursion to Hunter Valley Wildlife Park
Our Kindergarten students and teachers are very excited about their upcoming excursion to Hunter Valley Wildlife Park.
When: Thursday, 11th May
Arrive at School: no later than 8:50am
Return To School: By the end of the school day
What To Bring: Morning tea, packed lunch, afternoon tea, water bottle, and sunscreen
What To Wear: Sport uniform, school jacket and broad brimmed school hat
Please log onto the Parent Portal App to grant permission for your child to attend before Tuesday, 9th May.
