T4, Week 2

K - 2 Swim School

There was much excitement this Thursday as our Infants students eagerly arrived anticipating the beginning of their Term 4 Swim School. It was great to see them in a different context and we were excited to see our students who have particular gifts and talents in this area as well as those who are just beginning to learn this important life skill. K-2 Swim School will run every Thursday during Term 4 until Week 7. Swimming is great fun and a good exercise but our students get very hungry on these days as their lunch break may be a different time to usual. Please ensure that you pack your child a wholesome filling lunch with extra snacks to keep their energy levels high.

Celebrating Personal Development and Health

At MCS we strive to educate the whole child spiritually, academically and socially. An important component of this education are our Personal Development and Health lessons. During these lessons our students explore ideas through two engaging programs. This year our Prep - Year 2 students have engaged with the You Can Do It Program where they have explored confidence, being organised, getting along with others, persistence and resilience. Our Year 3 - 6 students have engaged with the Peace Wise program where they have explored resolving conflict by using  the Slippery Slope of Conflict and the Peace Making Pizza. This program allows our students to consider the fact that conflict entered our world when Adam and Eve disobeyed God but He wants us to work towards peace. Students are encouraged to take a step back when they face conflict, consider whether they can overlook it, talk to the other person or get help from an adult. Staff constantly remind them that God wants them to work towards peace and we support them in using the Peace Wise tools to do this.

Primary Awards

Congratulations to all our students who have received Primary Awards this fortnight. These awards are given to students who have excelled academically, have worked hard in a particular area and are making good progress, are living out the school’s C.H.R.I.S.T values and are giving back to the school community.

Term 4 Overviews

For an outline of all the learning taking place in our classrooms in Term 4 please go to the link below. We encourage you to have regular conversations with your child about what they are learning at school.

2026 Primary Classes

As we enter Term 4 many students and their families are beginning to think about class placements for 2026. The development of classes for the new year is a very large and complex task that is taken very seriously by our Primary staff. A great deal of prayer and discussion amongst the teaching staff goes into which class students are placed. In making these decisions we consider the needs of all students and aim to place each student with at least one child that they have a strong connection with so that they can begin the new school year feeling comfortable. We request that parents trust our professional judgement and know that we will carefully place their child where we believe their needs will be best met. We are blessed with a very professional and talented Primary teaching team and no matter what class your child is placed in you can be confident that they have a dedicated teacher and they will be ‘Well Known, Well Loved and Well Taught’. 2026 Primary classes will be communicated to parents during the week ending 16th January, 2026.

I wish everyone a restful weekend with their families.
