Mrs Wright-Baker will be returning to MCS in Term 3 however, for Term 2 Mrs Patton is stepping into the role of Acting Head of Primary to support the continued growth of our Primary Department.
Term 2 Transition to Winter Uniform
With the cooler months not too far away MCS will be officially commencing the wearing of Full Winter Uniform from Monday 12th May (Week 3). In the first 2 weeks of the term students may choose either their Summer or Winter Uniforms depending on the weather. For information on Uniform Days and the Uniform Policy please use the "quick link" at the top of the page.
Mother's Day Stall
We will be running our Mother’s Day Stall on Thursday 8th May from 9:00am with gifts costing $3 or $5 each. Primary students are required to pay in cash and will attend with their class throughout the day. Secondary students are able to pay with cash or card during the 1st and 2nd break.
We are also seeking parent volunteers to be able to assist with students purchasing gifts at the stall. If you are able to help on the day please email LauraGill@acc.edu.au. To be able to volunteer in this capacity a current Working with Children Check is required.
Mother’s Day Breakfast
All families are invited to recognise and celebrate the wonderful mother figures we have within our school community. As such, we will be holding a scrumptious breakfast on Friday 9th May from 7:30am - 8:30am. This event will be held outside the Lighthouse (or inside the Lighthouse if the weather is inclement).
Questioning Christianity - why not consider Alpha?
Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that explore life, faith, and meaning. Every Alpha session is based on these three ideas of connection, content and conversation.
Join us on Tuesdays at 6:30pm, in Overflow Care (adjacent community gardens), starting May 13th or May 20th. Expect a night of good food, a short film and great conversation. More information and to register for Alpha or contact Jo at Overflow Medowie on (02) 4982 9123.
Hosting Japanese Exchange Students
Next Term MCS will once again be welcoming the students from Ota Daiichi High School as they visit us as part of a cultural exchange. We have been blessed to have them as part of our community for the past 3 years.
This year’s visit commences on Monday 18th August and concludes on Tuesday 26th August. MCS is seeking families who are interested in hosting some of these students in your home for this time.
More details can be found on the image below. Please consider contacting Takashi who can provide further information.
