Annual School Survey

Each year Christian Education Ministries (CEM), the group that MCS is a part of, facilitates an annual survey of students, staff and families to glean some helpful feedback on how we are going. This year the annual MCS Survey will be shared with our families via email on 15th March 2024. Please keep a look out for this in your email inbox this weekend.

NAPLAN

Congratulations to all students that have begun sitting NAPLAN Assessments. Most students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 have now completed three of the four NAPLAN Assessments (Writing, Reading and Conventions of Language). Monday, 18th March will see these students complete their final assessment, Numeracy. Any students that have been absent and missed an assessment will have the opportunity to complete catch-ups across the coming week.

Please continue to help our students by reminding them they will need to ensure:

  • They have a fully charged device.

  • They have headphones.

  • If they are using wireless headphones, these are also fully charged.

If you have any questions about NAPLAN, please contact Mr Mark Walter.

Opportunities to be a part of our SMART Play Team

Do you have a passion for working with children? Would you like to work in a Christian environment? SmartPlay Early Learning Service is seeking a support worker to work 5 days a week. You do not need to be qualified, but you do need to be a minimum of 18 years old, hold a current Working With Children Clearance and be willing to obtain a First Aid Certificate and Child Protection Certificate if you do not already hold these. We would like you to start as soon as possible. Please contact Fiona Ham, assistant National Director at:

National Ride To School Day

Next Friday, 22nd March is National Ride to School Day. For last year's Ride to School Day more than 350 000 students across Australia rode, scooted or skated to school. With so many bikes kept at school because of our Bike Club and cycling for Sport we will have a Ride at School Day. This means that next week we will have an extra Bike Club day with special activities planned for lunchtime on our track. If you would like to participate in these activities please bring your bike, helmet and come dressed in your MCS sport uniform ready for a lunchtime of great cycling.

Sentral Parent App

Sentral Parent App

The Sentral Parent App is the main avenue that we will communicate with you about excursions and other school activities that require you to give permission for your child to participate. It appears that there are occasions when the Sentral Parent App logs out if you haven’t used it for a while. Please ensure that you are logged into the Sentral Parent App so that you are receiving any alerts to new information that you need to access in the system.
