Primary HRIS Athletics Carnival

Last Thursday, our Primary athletes went to Maitland Athletics Centre for their HRIS track and field events, as was reported in the Primary news last week. We enjoyed some exciting results on the day! For individual rankings across all schools, Kyson (8 Years Boys) and Dylan (12-13 Years Boys) came 3rd while our Asher (10 Years Girls) came ‘runner up’ for Age Champion. What a marvellous achievement!

I would like to thank all of our competitors for turning up and giving all you had. You have used the sporting skills and talents God has given you and you’ve given your school community a lot to celebrate. Thank you!

Under 15’s HRIS Basketball Squad

On Wednesday, our Under 15’s Rep Team ventured to Newcastle Basketball Stadium for the HRIS Basketball Gala Day. While we did not return to Medowie with any trophies or medals, I am delighted to report that this team was enormously competitive amongst a highly competitive field and won their final game of the day 33-6. I would like to make a special mention to Noah, our Power Forward, or as I like to put it, our ‘point-scoring machine’. Thank you to the entire ‘Squad’ that worked hard during our training sessions. I cannot wait to see our boys play in the ‘Opens’ division next year.

Primary Stage 3 Netball Gala

On Tuesday 22nd August Stage 3 participated in the HRIS Netball Gala in Newcastle. The team was highly motivated to develop their netball skills each week over the course of Term 2 and 3, and as a result came 9th in the Senior Division. Taking into consideration how warm the day was and the number of matches they played, our Stage 3 team demonstrated great resilience, courage, strength and integrity. Other teams and their coaches commented on their sportsmanship, skill and care for others.

Our Netball Squad Coach, Mrs Debra Nala, would like to thank Mrs MacDonald and Mrs Stone-Krznaric for their umpiring and coaching support.
