T3, Week 2
Netball Gala Day
Tuesday saw our Under 15 Netball team travel to Maitland to compete in the HRIS Under 15 Netball Gala Day. Ms Foy coached the team and had this to say about their efforts throughout the day:
“The team played 8 games throughout the day with many teams attending the event clearly having been “a team” for much longer than our 8 brave girls from Medowie CS. Although their grit and determination was evident, they lost their first few games. Not giving up, their netball skills developed and their teamsmanship shone through. They defeated their opponents in the last 3 games, convincingly. So excited by this achievement the girls were placed in the finals playoff. Even though they were defeated in this playoff, the team was brilliant, giving such effort, completely exhausted by the end of the day. If you see these girls around school, please congratulate them.”
Boys Football Gala Day
The HRIS Under 15 Boys Football Gala Day was unfortunately postponed due to field closures, and the rescheduled date will be communicated with the players and their families as soon as it is confirmed by HRIS.
Girls Football Gala Day
The Under 15 Girls Football team competed in the HRIS Girls Football Gala Day on Thursday. With poor weather impacting training and uncertainty that the day would even go ahead, the team showed up excited to play. The girls showed great composure and teamwork during the entire day, winning their first game 2-0 before falling in their next two games but being highly competitive right throughout each game. Even though the weather thoroughly dampened Mr Keith and Mrs Donaldson on the sidelines, it didn’t dampen the spirits of the girls who played hard right to the final whistle of their final game.
