T2, Week 1
Thredbo Mountain Biking Camp - Another Outstanding Opportunity!
During the last week of Term One, some very fortunate, excited and brave students from Years 7-11 gathered at school early on Monday morning, loaded their mountain bikes and luggage on the bus and headed off for our annual Mountain Bike Camp to Thredbo. I am thrilled to report that the weather was perfect, the tracks were in excellent condition so we could shred the mountain, and there were lots of good times and laughter to be seen and heard, before returning safely five days later.
We want to say a massive thank you to the ‘very cool’ Mr Davis, our Medowie MTB expert, for the enormous sacrifice he made to ensure that this was once again an enormously successful experience for all the students involved. Thank you also, to Karen from the Happy Wanderers Lodge at Thredbo, who went over and above to look after us all while we were there. To all our families at home we thank you for your commitment to our mountain bike program at school and for your prayers while we were away.
We are excited about the opportunities our outstanding Mountain Bike program offers MCS students. During lunch times you can find upwards of seventy students, across Infants, Primary and Secondary, riding around our mountain bike track at school. These opportunities at Medowie Christian School, and others like it, continue to provide unique experiences for all of our students that provide learning experiences that seek to enrich the lives of our students at school, and our Thredbo Mountain Bike Camp is the pinnacle of such programs.
Thank you to all the students who attended for your outstanding behaviour and respect you showed while we were in Thredbo.
