T1, Week 6
HRIS Secondary Swimming
Well done to our students who competed in the HRIS Swimming Carnival this week. It is a tremendous effort to qualify for this event and to go and compete against some quality swimmers but our team performed to their best and we are all proud of you.
Thredbo Mountain Bike Excursion
One of the many exciting opportunities offered to our students at Medowie Christian School is our annual Thredbo Mountain Bike Camp. During Week 11 of Term 1, students from Years 7-11 will head to Thredbo Mountain Bike Park for a week-long excursion with some of our experienced staff. To attend, students need to have been part of our Mountain Bike Program as riding the tracks at Thredbo can be very demanding.
We have been distributing information to our riders over the last week. If there are any students still interested in attending, 'Expressions of Interest' (notes) will need to be returned no later than Monday of next week, to secure a position on our Thredbo Team.
For those who are communicated their interest in attending, information will be sent to you soon via Parent Portal.

Equestrian
This week the MCS Equestrian Team polished up their riding gear along with their horses and attended their first clinic at the Raymond Terrace Riding for the Disabled Indoor Arena. This year we welcomed a number of new riders and their families to the team and also welcomed back our returning riders and their families who have faithfully supported the team for the last several years. We also welcomed back our trainers Emma and Matt Broome from Voller Park, for another year of coaching. The wet weather hindered some of our team's attendance this week, but the clinic that was run by Matt this week left smiles all around. We have already registered for our first Interschools Competition for 2025 and have a number of exciting ideas to bring into fruition.
