T3, Week 5

We have had a busy couple of weeks here at MCS, with a number of representative teams participating in a number of Gala Days. All of our students did a tremendous job representing our school, displaying great effort and sportsmanship throughout all of these events. A big thank you to all of our coaches and volunteers that made these teams possible.

Boys Basketball Gala Day

Last week, our Under 15 Boys Basketball team travelled into Newcastle to compete in the HRIS Basketball Gala Day. Despite being one of, if not the youngest team in the competition, our boys turned in an outstanding performance to finish the Gala Day in 11th place, winning 3 out of their 6 games. Well done boys.

Secondary Netball Gala Day

On Tuesday 27th August the Under 16 Netball Team competed in the HRIS Netball Gala Day. There were a number of really close games and our girls battled hard right from the opening whistle. They finished the day in 10th place which is a wonderful result and they are all to be commended for their commitment to the team throughout the long day.

Girls Basketball Gala Day

Congratulations to our Under 15 Basketball team, who represented the school at the HRIS Basketball Gala Day on Wednesday 28th August. Despite being a young team and not having much training time, the girls put in a fabulous effort and competed all day, finishing with an exciting 12th place.

Primary Netball Gala Day

On Thursday, 29th August our Stage 2 and 3 Girls’ Netball Teams represented MCS at the HRIS Netball Gala Day which was held at the National Park Netball Courts. Our Stage 2 students had a great day learning how to play together as a team and build their Netball skills. Our Stage 3 team had a brilliant day, they made us proud by making it to the finals and finishing 6th overall. A huge thank you goes to Mrs Patton and Mrs MacDonald for training the girls and preparing them for the day.
