Equestrian News
Back in early August, Horseland Raymond Terrace advertised for interested junior ambassadors. Amber decided to apply for this. The hardest part of the application was keeping it to only 50 words on why she should become a youth ambassador. This is a sponsorship from Horseland Raymond Terrace and Dublin Clothing and is a fantastic opportunity which Amber is very proud to have been given.
Amber is a dedicated horsewoman who has 3 horses that she currently rides and trains. She is competing on two of her horses (Danny and Coco) and has a young one she hopes to compete with soon (Donny). It has not always been a smooth journey as most of you would have seen Amber on crutches and in a boot for nearly four months earlier this year after a bad fall however, loving her horses and the equestrian sport keeps her returning for more. Amber rides and works with her horses before and after school, as well as on weekends, in addition to competing and travelling for this sport.
To Jenny and Shane’s delight, their daughter Amber was selected to be the youth ambassador for dressage. Congratulations Amber, we are very proud of your achievements and are looking forward to seeing where this takes you in the future.

No Hat, No Play
Wearing a hat when involved in outdoor activities is, and has always been, an important element to protecting ourselves from the damaging ultraviolet light that causes sunburn and irreversible damage to our skin. While a range of ‘sun safe’ practices are part of our policy at Medowie CS, it is becoming increasingly common for some of our students to have misplaced their hat during the cooler months of the year.
As the temperatures increase we will again be focussing on each and every student having a hat available when at school, and to wear it, whether that be during breaks or during PDHPE and Sport. In preparation for Term 4 we will be expecting that every student locate and wear their MCS school hat at school, and to participate in Wednesday Sport during Week 9.
Can we ask that our families help their child by ensuring they have a hat for school, and if they do not, to communicate this with their child’s Care Group Teacher, and to purchase one online. Uniforms can be ordered online, which can be accessed via the school’s website under the ‘Parent Hub’ and the ‘Uniform Shop’ at the bottom of the page. Here is the link for your convenience:
