HRIS Swimming
Congratulations to our Primary and Secondary Zone Swimming teams which competed in the HRIS Swimming Carnivals in the last two weeks. All of our students who attended the carnivals gave their best efforts and we are all really proud of the attitude they displayed at the carnivals.
Mountain Biking News
Nick, Lachlan, and Finley spent this week down at Thredbo participating in the Australian MTB Interschools competition. They have worked really hard and achieved some positive results. Congratulations boys. The following excerpts come to you from Mr. G Davis, one of our MTB Team staff members:
Thredbo MTB Camp
Last week, 19 Medowie Christian School riders made the trek from Medowie to Thredbo to enjoy one of the best mountain biking experiences available in Australia. This was our 4th consecutive year conducting the Thredbo MTB camp and once again we were blessed with perfect weather conditions! All our riders relished the opportunity to improve their MTB skills. Mr Hallet ran afternoon recovery sessions in the cool, shallow waters of the Thredbo River. Riders experienced big thrills, minor spills and miraculously everyone’s tyres stayed filled!

Thredbo MTB Interschools Competition
This week, 3 students Nick, Finley and Lachlan returned to Thredbo and have been representing Medowie Christian School in the Australian MTB Interschools competition. With literally hundreds of riders in each age category this event is the largest of its type in Australia, with an extremely high standard of racing. All our boys are producing solid results and adding to their racing experience.

National Mountain Bike Championships - Awaba MTB park and Redhead pump track
Next week the National Mountain Bike Championships are being hosted nearby in the Lake Macquarie region. Riders from Medowie Christian School are competing in the Downhill at Awaba MTB park and also in the Pump Track event at Redhead. This is an exciting opportunity to watch the best mountain bike riders in Australia vying for the National Championship.

Cross Country
Our Cross Country Carnival is fast approaching. It will be held during Sport on our own MCS Cross Country loop, on Wednesday in Week 9. Get your running shoes and school colours ready for a great day. The Brumbies are the defending cross Country Champions so the pressure is now on, for all competitors and team players, to compete at your best!
