Build ME a Future Day
Despite having to cut the excursion short due to the wet weather, some of our Stage 4 students were still able to sneak in a little fun at the Science and Engineering Challenge: Build ME a Future Day at the University of Newcastle.
The event is designed to inspire students by highlighting the real-world impact of STEM careers through engaging, hands-on challenges, bridging the gap between school and university, and showcasing how STEM careers can make a positive impact in the world.
During the morning, students were streamed through inspirational activities, including SEC-style projects such as building a working model bridge, catapult, or electrical network. Next year, hopefully with more settled weather, our students will have another opportunity to attend and experience University tours of research labs, Undergraduate/ Postgraduate talks, science demonstrations, and workshops in civil engineering, forensics or robotics.
