T4, Week 7

Year 10 Work Experience

Congratulations Year 10 for a positive week at Work Experience.

Our Year 10 students embarked on a week within the workforce. They ‘worked in’ a variety of sectors across our region including such industries as early childhood, plumbing, floristry and medical imagery. Work Experience offers students an opportunity to gain insight into the workforce and make connections with leaders in an array of industries.  We congratulate Year 10 on their achievements this week and pray that it has been both an encouraging and worthwhile experience for them.

Next Gen Leadership Day

Last week Year 12 students headed to Newcastle Town Hall with other local schools ready to be equipped in how to be a leader in the Next Generation. It was a time to network with other young adults across numerous schools, hear speakers about how we can, as leaders, make positive changes in the world for Jesus and reflect upon the type of leader we desire to be. Year 12 were congratulated for how they led their table groups often mentoring the younger students in having confidence to speak up and have a voice.

Year 12 Campout

Christmas came to MCS as our Year 12 of 2025 celebrated their last Christmas together on school grounds. A night of laughter, presents, Capture the Flag, sharing of a meal and, of course, dancing and karaoke.

Together we spent time reflecting upon their year, the journey they have had and the people they are grateful for. We read Ecclesiastes 3:1 "There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens...". We talked through the season that has just finished and the new season of 2025 they are about to embark on. Warm, sincere prayer times were shared and tears were shed as we were touched by the Holy Spirit and the love that Jesus has for each of us. We felt the real presence of God and the deep knowing that He has a plan for each of us.

This is the first of their "last events" as they walk towards the last twelve months of their formal schooling. We are blessed to have them in our community and wish them a time of rest over the holidays.
