T4, Week 4
MegaCRU
On Thursday the 24th October, thirty-six Secondary students traveled to the Central Coast for a combined schools gathering of all the Christian Clubs across the Hunter, Central Coast & Newcastle areas. Several hundred students from across the region came to celebrate Jesus and what he has been doing in our schools. There were two awesome worship bands invited to lead music, one of which was our very own school’s Chapel Band! They led us in praise and worship and ignited the atmosphere with their energy.
The day included fellowship amongst the young people, fun games, and a talk from a guest speaker, David Deane (from Questioning Christianity). David spoke about what it means to stand up for Jesus in our schools. His key encouragements were to not be ashamed of the Gospel and to speak out boldly in those moments where it matters. We are looking forward to hosting another CRU event at Medowie Christian School next year.
“I loved it - the opportunity of going somewhere else to play in a different location was great. I also enjoyed the sermon, and chatting with others about what we had learnt.”
- Isaac Conza
“I really liked that there was another band there. That gave us insight into how other schools lead worship. I enjoyed David’s message.”
- Callum Donaldson
“I really enjoyed coming together with so many other Christian young people and getting to worship together.”
- Evie Gibson
“I loved the music - that was a highlight. I also loved David’s talk”.
- Jesse McHugh
