T4, Week 6
Year 10 Stepping Up Camp
This week has seen our 2024 Year 11 students explore the Sydney CBD and camp on historic Cockatoo Island. Students have been challenged to develop their teamwork and camaraderie in a Race around Sydney event and begin their preparations toward entering Senior School and starting their HSC journey. We look forward to hearing all about their adventures next week.

Mobile Phones
In today’s society mobile phones have become relatively ubiquitous. As a school we recognise their place within our community but we also want to ensure that we are guiding our students in their appropriate use. As part of this I would like to remind families of some key points from our school policy.
Learners in Years 7-10 are to keep their phones in their bag between 8:50am and 3:10pm and are to seek permission from a teacher if they wish to use their phone.
If a learner uses their phone without permission between (8:50am - 3:10pm) the learner will be asked to return it to their bag and/or hand it in to a teacher to be collected by the student at the end of the school day.
If learners repeatedly have their phones out during school time, learners may be asked to hand it in directly to a teacher. Parents may also be contacted to discuss the suitability of the learner having their phone at school.
Learners in Years 11 and 12 can have their phone in their possession but out of sight and on silent. They may use their phone for educational purposes under a teacher’s supervision or during timetabled private study sessions, in the Study Rooms. If learners need to make a phone call during school hours they need to go to Student Administration.
Misuse of a phone will result in a learner being asked to return it to their bag and/or hand it in to a teacher, to be collected by the learner at the end of the school day.
If learners repeatedly have their phones out during school time or its use poorly reflects on the secondary leadership culture desired, students may be asked to leave it in their bag or hand it in directly to a teacher. Parents may also be contacted to discuss the suitability of the student having their phone at school.
Blessings!
