Our Culture of Community - Built Together
You may have heard it said that ‘Culture eats strategy for breakfast’, essentially meaning that regardless of your plans, projects, dreams and aspirations, you can not expect them to thrive if the culture is not there to support it. Here at MCS we have a wonderful team of academic and support staff that are working hard to create a positive culture for our community. We are blessed with many wonderful spaces and resources and a great student community. Whilst at times our young men and women do need some additional guidance and correction, as we all make mistakes, I am proud that we are creating a culture whereby we, students and staff, have the opportunity to learn and grow together in a safe and supportive environment.
Throughout the term I have written to you with examples of our Culture of Community and Culture of Learning, along with the many benefits this is bringing to your children’s experience here at MCS. It is my intention to continue to update you on the progress we, as a school, are making in building community and our approach to learning. To help communicate who we are, where we are heading and how we are getting there.
Culture is something we can build together, whilst the school, under the guidance and direction of the Board and Executive Leadership, set the course, the staff, students and families all have a wonderful opportunity to help craft and guide this to help us in creating the best school culture possible.
Great way to finish the week!
One of our new initiatives this year has been our approach to re-building a sense of pride and belonging through Full House. Today was a great opportunity to see our K - Year 10 communities come together to Take Flight in a Paper Plane Contest. This was a wonderful moment of building community here at MCS with so many of our learners making a positive contribution to this event!

I would like to wish all of our students and families a blessed Easter and Holiday Season as we remember the sacrifice Jesus made for us to be in relationship with our Heavenly Father and celebrate the victory Jesus won over death through his resurrection.
