T3, Week 6

Year 7 Orientation

This week, we welcomed our incoming Year 7, 2027 cohort for their first Secondary transition experience. The morning marked the start to their high school journey, reflecting our heart to provide an education where every young person is well known, well loved, and well taught.

Throughout the morning, our students connected with their future classmates through group activities run by our Year 10 Leaders and shared morning tea. There was also an opportunity to complete a general abilities assessment to help Secondary staff understand their unique learning strengths.

During this time, our families joined key staff who shared more about the culture of Secondary School and the quality learning their children should expect to experience. Key staff from the Wellbeing and Learning Engagement Team were also present, allowing families to ask questions, build connections, and get to know key contacts before the new year.

Families were also introduced to and guided through the Assessment Schedule, homework routines and our technological approach to learning and online safety.

Thank you to our Year 7, 2027 families who invested their time to partner with us as we transition our new cohort into Secondary at MCS. We look forward to seeing them grow and develop into who God has created them to be.
