T3, Week 5
Year 12 - That's a Wrap
Congratulations to our Year 12 students who have just completed their Trial Examinations this week! Thursday afternoon was a time together to blow off some steam, unwind and have a little healthy fun with Stage 3!
Over the coming weeks, Stage 6 teachers will be handing back marked papers, providing feedback and unpacking their results. Whilst it is completely normal to feel a little nervous about receiving results, we would like to encourage our Year 12s to view their feedback as an opportunity to continue growing, take informed next steps, and focus on specific areas of the syllabus.
These Trial Examinations are designed to show you what you have mastered and where you can make a few small adjustments to help you gain extra marks.
Use the time between now and your HSC examinations to ask questions, study together, work through unknown questions with your teachers and further practice examination techniques.
We will be holding subject-specific workshops over the coming weeks to provide further support as they prepare for the final stint. Keep an eye out for further communications regarding these opportunities.

Year 11 Feeling Cool on the Slopes!
Year 11 have been having a ball in the snow this week, as they headed for their Snow Camp in Perisher Resort together, learning how to ski and snowboard.
This is an opportunity for our Senior Learners to experience a highly memorable moment in their schooling and is often a highlight when they reflect on their time at MCS. They have built new skills, challenged themselves, their resilience and had opportunities to support and encourage one another in ways that will only serve to strengthen their approach when they return to the classroom.
Please enjoy some photos this week, and keep an eye out for next week's newsletter with Year 11 sharing some of their camp reflections.

Stage 5 Agriculture hit the road this week to visit the Maitland Livestock Auctions!
Though we were a little caught off guard by the noise, the unique aromas, and the inescapable amount of manure, we quickly found our footing and got swept up in the rhythm of the auction. It was fascinating to witness the auctioneers expertly pitching the stock and swiftly selling lots to a tight-knit group of buyers, mostly representing abattoirs.
Overall, it was an eye-opening excursion filled with unforgettable, hands-on learning. A big thank you goes out to Bowe & Lidbury Pty Ltd, who led us through the workings of the auction and even let the students have a go at selling a pretend animal!
