T1, Week 4

Assessment Schedules

As we settle into the rhythm of the new academic year, one's Secondary School schedule begins to fill. With multiple subjects, co-curricular commitments, and social activities, students can often feel that deadlines "sneak up" on them.

To help support your child in managing their workload effectively, we have now released our Assessment Schedules for the year on the Canvas Secondary Hub.

This document is designed to help students navigate each term with confidence and purpose. When used effectively, an Assessment Schedule transforms assessment from a source of anxiety into an opportunity for growth. Success in Secondary School is rarely about last-minute brilliance; it is about consistent, planned effort.

Quick Tips for Success:

  • Print out the summary page and place it on the fridge for ease of reference

  • Add due dates to a physical calendar or digital planner

  • Spot the weeks with multiple assessments and start preparing for them now, not the week before.

  • Break big tasks into small steps leading up to the due date, aiming to complete the task 2 days before the due date.

  • Continue to seek advice and guidance from teachers.

We encourage Secondary families to review this document together as we continue to provide tools that help our students move from "surviving" deadlines to thriving through them.

We look forward to seeing our young people produce their best work across 2026.

Chapel - Staff Under the Spotlight

The Secondary School chapel season commenced with a powerful sense of renewed energy. There was a profound joy in seeing our worship band lead the community once more, uniting us in song and praise.

As our Student Leaders interviewed some of our Secondary teachers, we were particularly challenged by Ms Cromwell, Mr Klopper, Mr Todd, Mr Connett and Mrs Salvini as they shared openly about their walk of faith. They spoke candidly about the reality that a life devoted to Christ is not exempt from trials; rather, it is sustained through them. Their testimony served as a reminder that while obstacles and uncertainties are inevitable, the hope, grace, and enduring love of Jesus provide a foundation that makes the journey infinitely rewarding.

We remain deeply grateful for our staff, whose commitment to modelling a life of trust in Jesus serves as a cornerstone for our students' spiritual formation.

OnSTAGE Excursion

Our Stage 6 Drama students travelled to Sydney this week for an inspiring excursion to see OnSTAGE at the Seymour Theatre Centre. This annual showcase features a selection of outstanding Band 6 Drama performances from NSW schools in 2025, celebrating excellence in HSC Drama.

Students were captivated by a diverse range of monologues and group performances, demonstrating exceptional skill, creativity and emotional depth. In addition to the live performances, they explored impressive displays of Independent Projects, including set design, video drama, theatre critique, costume design and production promotion work.

The experience was both inspiring and thought-provoking, giving our Year 11 Drama students valuable insight into the possibilities of their own Stage 6 journey. It was a wonderful opportunity to see what can be achieved through dedication, collaboration and creative risk-taking in Drama.
