Meet The Teacher Afternoon
Thank you to all the parents who joined us for Meet The Teacher afternoon this week. It was lovely to spend time getting to know you in an informal setting and we greatly appreciate you taking the time out of your evening to help build a strong partnership between school and home in order to help your children thrive. We feel tremendously blessed to have your children as part of our MCS community and look forward to working with you and your family during 2026.

Clubs
It has been an exciting week in the Primary Department as many of our Clubs have begun for the year. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to call in on our Defence Club where several students were eagerly playing board games and participating in craft activities. It was also wonderful to see so many students arriving at school with their bikes ready for their first couple of lunch times on the bike track. Clubs are an excellent opportunity for our students to explore different activities and to find areas that they may excel in. It is also a great opportunity to make new friends across different year levels with similar interests. I encourage all students to join at least one club in order to take advantage of this great offering at MCS.
Cheer
We are excited to announce that the MCS Primary Department will enter a Cheer Team in the annual NSW Championships in October. Cheer in 2026 will be run as a club and will take place on Thursdays from 12:20 - 1:40pm at the Medowie iDance Studio. This will begin on Thursday, 26th March (Week 5). Please go to the link below for further information and to give permission for your child to be part of this exciting club for 2026.
Afterschool Basketball Club
Many of our Primary students were keen participants in the After School Basketball Club last year. This club will operate again in 2026 but will begin in Term 2. Further information will be sent in the Newsletter closer to the date of the club’s commencement.
Code Camp
We are blessed at MCS to have gifted STEM teachers who introduce our students to creative ways to use technology in order to enhance their learning and communicate with the world around them. As a result of this many of our students are keen to take this learning and put it into practice in other contexts. In order to assist our students to build on their learning in STEM we have partnered with an organisation called Code Camp and they will be running a Coding Club at MCS in Term 2. This will take place on Wednesday afternoons from 3:25 - 4:40pm. It will start on 29th April and will run for 8 weeks.
