T4, Week 1
Welcome back to Term 4
Welcome back to our final school term of 2025.
It has been wonderful to hear holiday stories, the laughs across the school and the smiling faces as our young people reconnect with friends and teachers.
Secondary has already started the term with many opportunities — Volleyball Gala Days, Chapel, our HSC 2025 students beginning their exams, our new student leaders being encouraged and prayed for in their new roles, and our Sports and Exercise Science students starting at the gym.
Coming Up in Term 4
Looking ahead this term, we have a number of exciting events and opportunities, including MegaCru, Remembrance Day, Next Gen Leadership Day, Stage 5 examinations, Year 10 Work Experience, Year 10 Camp and All My Own Work, as well as our Year 7 Immersion Day, where we will welcome Year 7 2026 into the Secondary spaces for the day.
We pray that our students complete their assessments this term well, showcasing the growth and learning they have achieved throughout the year.
We encourage you to stay in touch with subject teachers and Care Group teachers if you have any questions or if there are ways we can offer support.

Unlocking God-Given Creativity: Why Visual Arts Matters
At Medowie Christian School, we love watching our students discover the gifts God has placed within them. When a student picks up a paintbrush, pencil, camera or clay, they are not just “doing an art project,” they are learning to problem-solve, persevere and see the world through new eyes. Creative Arts are a vibrant part of how our young people learn, connect and worship through their God-given creativity.
Building Confidence, Resilience and Imagination
In Visual Arts, “mistakes” become opportunities. Each sketch, painting, sculpture or photograph teaches perseverance, critical thinking and flexible thinking. These are skills that serve our students well—far beyond the art room. As students analyse their own work and the work of others, they learn to ask thoughtful questions and make considered choices: habits that strengthen their decision-making in every area of life.
Learning That Sticks
We regularly see how Creative Arts deepens engagement across all subjects. When students paint a historical scene or design a scientific illustration, they’re building hands-on understanding in ways that textbooks alone can’t provide. Studying famous artworks also develops visual literacy - the ability to “read” images and symbols in our media-rich world, equipping students to engage critically with culture, from a Christian perspective. Research and our own classroom experiences, show that imagination and play make learning more meaningful and memorable.
Strengthening Well-Being and Community
The arts are also a beautiful way for students to connect with one another. Whether they’re collaborating on their Term 3 creative $20 Boss project (Stage 5) or encouraging a classmate with their work, they’re building friendships and learning to appreciate each other’s unique perspectives. Many of our students say that creating together is one of the ways they feel most included and supported at school. Students are also exposed to artworks from diverse cultures and eras, broadening their understanding of God’s world and nurturing empathy for others.
Preparing for Tomorrow
Visual Arts helps our students develop communication, teamwork, critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills every employer values. Through writing about art and discussing ideas, students learn to articulate complex thoughts clearly and respectfully, abilities that strengthen their academic discipline across all subjects. More importantly, they learn that their creativity can bless others and glorify God, whether they’re sharing a drawing with a friend or presenting a design in a future workplace.
A Community Celebration
Thank you, parents and carers, for encouraging your children to explore their creativity. Your support allows them to develop gifts that will shape their futures and enrich our community. We are excited to see the next masterpiece God will bring to life through their hands!
