  • Luke, being named Australian champion in BMX riding

  • Lylah and Eden, being selected in their respective Australian Futsal sides after competing at Nationals in Brisbane

  • Harry, named the Athlete of the year for Golf by the Hunter Academy of Sport

  • Dylan, reaching CIS Athletics for High Jump

We love to celebrate our students and know that this is just a small number of the outstanding sporting achievements of our student body. We would love to know of any achievements that MCS students have reached. Please let Mr Keith know via email so we can celebrate with our students.

Primary FUTSAL Sporting Achievements

While everyone has been relaxing & enjoying their holidays, a number of MCS students have been representing Northern NSW competing at the National Schools Futsal Championships in Brisbane.

The NNSW teams were selected earlier in the year, and then trained for a number of weeks, before the tournament kicked off on Monday running through to Thursday.

Our MCS Representatives were:

  • Declan, Oakley, Lachlan, Evhan (NNSW 8yrs)

  • Teix, Saxon, Mikko, Juvanni (NNSW 9yrs)

  • Kyson (NNSW 10yrs Boys)

  • Chantima (NNSW 10yrs Girls)

Most of our MCS student’s teams made it through to the finals series, with Teix & Saxon’s team 1 loss from a Grand Final appearance. But Juvanni flew the MCS flag proudly with his team (NNSW Blue 9s) winning the Grand Final and crowned 9yrs National Champions. Congratulations to Juvanni & the team!

The presentation night was held at Dreamworld where an Australian All Stars team was announced in each age group. Teix and Saxon both were selected into the coveted 9yrs All Stars team, and are an automatic inclusion into the Australian Futsal team who will travel to the Philippines in 2026! This is a huge honour for the boys who were recognised and rewarded for their hard work over the 4 days of the tournament. Chantima has also been selected into the 10yrs girls Australian team and Juvanni was selected into the 10 years boys Australian Team.

Congratulations to Chantima, Saxon, Juvanni and Teix and all the MCS students who competed!

HRIS Under 15 Volleyball Championships

On Thursday, our U15 boy and girl volleyball teams did an outstanding job representing the school at the HRIS Gala Day. Their dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship were on full display throughout the fiercely competitive tournament.

Competing against 10 other strong teams, our young men demonstrated remarkable tenacity. They secured a hard-fought win in their opening match, mounted a determined comeback against a highly-drilled Avondale team in their second, and rallied for a victory in their third pool game. Dropping only their final pool match, they advanced to the finals series in second place.

The final rounds were challenging and showcased the boys' excellent teamwork. In both finals matches, they fought back from being down one set—a true testament to their fighting spirit. While they ultimately fell just short, their 4th place overall finish against such exceptional competition is a commendable result.

The girls' team was equally impressive, finishing 3rd out of 12 teams with four wins from five matches. They were dominant in the pool stage, completing their matches undefeated.

They swept through the quarterfinals before meeting their match in a tough semifinal. The match for 3rd place overall was a thrilling, point-for-point battle, where the girls dug deep to secure the victory with a tense 15-13 scoreline.

Beyond the impressive results, we were incredibly proud of the exemplary sportsmanship and positive attitude demonstrated by all our players. They represented the school community with distinction throughout the day.

Congratulations to all our U15 volleyballers on a fantastic HRIS Gala Day!

Stage 3 HRIS Boy’s Soccer Gala Day

On Monday 22nd September the Stage 3 Boys Soccer team competed in the HRIS Gala Day. This gala day was rescheduled after the wet weather earlier in the year and the warmer weather made it a more challenging day. The boys competed well across four games but were unable to make it to the finals after some very close games.  We are proud of the determined effort that they put in on the day.
