T3, Week 5

Cyber Safety Presentation

This week our Primary students have dug deeply into the concepts of cyber safety and bullying and how they should respond to these behaviours in order to be protected. They were entertained by some actors from Brainstorm Productions where they entered the world of Leo and Serena who were struggling to get along with their peers. Leo and Serena  enter Protector School where they discover that empathy, assertiveness and resilience are their super powers. Our students found this presentation very entertaining and were challenged to develop their empathy, assertiveness and resilience in order to have better relationships and be more confident in themselves.

Celebrating Year 4 Learning

Year 4 has been learning about symmetry. We explored lines of symmetry by folding and reflecting shapes and discovered rotational symmetry. Rotational symmetry occurs when a shape looks identical after being rotated by less than a full 360° turn around its centre point. The ‘order’ of rotational symmetry is the number of times the shape appears the same during one full rotation.

It’s lovely to see our Year 4 students embracing their Drama lessons this term. In small groups students are having a wonderful time laughing and smiling while acting out short mimes and improvising. They have designed a paper mask to show their chosen emotion and these are starting to look quite spectacular!
