T2, Week 6
An Exciting Week
We’ve had a fun and eventful week at school! Kindergarten had a wonderful time visiting the Hunter Valley Zoo, getting up close with a variety of animals and enjoying the great outdoors. K-2 also welcomed a visit from the Ascent Shoelace Tying Workshop, where students had fun learning a valuable life skill in a hands-on and engaging way. Our Stage 2 and 3 Futsal teams represented our school with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship at the Gala Day (more in Sports News). We’re thankful to God for a week full of learning, laughter, and safe adventures.

Uniform Reminder
Wearing the school uniform correctly is one way we show we are ready to learn. Every part of the uniform matters. For girls, this includes wearing the maroon tab, appropriate jewellery and having hair neatly tied back. For boys, this means grey socks, black shoes, and shirts tucked in when wearing the formal uniform. We appreciate your support in helping your child wear their uniform with pride. For more information please refer to the Uniform Policy.

Acting Head of Primary
Each week we are excited to hear from inside our Primary classrooms and find out what is happening. Please enjoy this week’s instalment from Years 5/6…
Year 5/6 have studied the novels August and Jones and Queenie in Seven Moves. They have thoroughly enjoyed exploring how authors craft narratives and shape characters to connect, on multiple levels, with their target audience. Some of their learning highlights include listening to the audiobooks, participating in small group role play, investigating humanitarian issues, archetypes and the unique stories of people with disabilities and creating songs, postcards, letters and arguments.

Each fortnight, students look forward to spending time with their Kinder Buddies. We enjoy playing games, listening to stories, making crafts, growing plants, singing songs and of course, having a snuggle or two. God teaches us that people are our greatest treasures.

Year 5/6 have been exploring the fascinating world of Matter, discovering why it really matters! Through hands-on experiments, they’ve investigated the properties of solids, liquids, and gases—highlighted by their exploration of Oobleck, a substance that acts like both a liquid and a solid. It’s been wonderful to see students marvel at God’s intricate design in the natural world.
In Visual Arts, the Asia-Pacific unit has taken students on a vibrant journey through the region’s rich artistic traditions. They’ve explored how different cultures share stories and beliefs through art, engaging with Chinese brush painting, Japanese Ukiyo-e prints, Pacific tapa/siapo cloth, and Korean Minhwa folk art. It’s been a joy to celebrate the creativity and cultural beauty of our Asia-Pacific neighbours.
