T2, Week 5
Thankfulness
After recent rain and flooding, we are thankful to be returning to our normal routines. We give thanks to God for His protection and for the safe return of students and staff. It is a blessing to see our school community back together again.
We’re excited to announce our upcoming celebration, "Light Up the Night," which will take place in the final week of Term 2! This special event will showcase the incredible talent of our K- 6 students. For more details, please refer to the Music News.
Primary GRIP Leadership Conference
Our Primary leaders recently took part in the GRIP Leadership Conference, where they learned valuable lessons about what it means to be a leader. Through engaging games and activities, they explored the importance of being a positive example, a helpful hand, and a voice for others. They also discovered how leadership can grow through friendship and shared creative ideas for making a difference in their school community.
"I learnt that a leader always needs a team to thrive, nobody is is good at everything, and people listen to you when it's actually realistic. I loved the "would you rather" code game as it was an amazing but fun way to learn each other's interests. Secondly, my amazing dance moves because well… self explanatory. I did the 'grocery cart' and well it was very embarrassing and the other leaders will not let me forget it."
-Zac
I learnt to be realistic when planning things because then people will listen to you, and that you don’t need to be a student leader to be a leader. I really enjoyed "loud noises" and especially when we played "would you rather". We also got to choose one person from each school to go on stage and dance so we chose Zac and he did the 'shopping cart'. A quote I will remember from the day is "Fun is more effective than feeling forced".

Acting Head of Primary
Each week we are excited to hear from inside our Primary classrooms and find out what is happening. Please enjoy this week’s instalment from Year 4…
Creative Minds
Students in Year 4 have enjoyed the creative challenge of designing their own board games, using their imagination and problem-solving skills to bring unique ideas to life. From planning the rules to crafting game pieces and boards, they’ve shown great enthusiasm and teamwork. The highlight has been watching their friends play the games they’ve created, testing them out and having fun together!

Our students are always eager to learn new techniques and explore different mediums during art time. They embrace the opportunity to take creative risks and add their own unique flair to each piece. The classroom is always filled with chatter, laughter, and a buzz of positive energy that makes art sessions so much fun! This term, Year 4 is focusing on three-dimensional art. Their latest creations involve manipulating paper using a range of techniques and assembling it on cardstock to produce abstract 3D artworks.
“My favourite thing was getting to use all the different techniques and then arranging it in a fun way.”
- Alexis 4RP
“The accordion technique was very cool, so I made the biggest one I could.”
