T2, Week 3
A Wet Start to Term 2
Our students have been doing a fantastic job this term, showing great effort, creativity, and a love for learning in all areas of the curriculum. Whether it's tackling new maths challenges or diving into exciting art and science activities, their enthusiasm has been inspiring. With all the rainy days we've had recently, we encourage parents to put a raincoat into their child’s school bag. This helps ensure students stay dry and comfortable during outdoor breaks and the travel to and from school. Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership.
Primary Awards
Congratulations to all our Primary Award recipients this fortnight. These students have received awards in acknowledgement of their excellent academic performance, upholding the MCS CHRIST values and for serving the MCS Primary community.

Mrs K Patton
Acting Head of Primary
Each week we are excited to hear from inside our Primary classrooms and find out what is happening. Please enjoy this week’s instalment from Year 2…
Our Year 2 students have been engaged in a Schoolyard Safari during their Integrated lessons. By observing and identifying the features and behaviour of small animals in their natural habitat, students have gained an understanding of the value and the role of all living things (even the crawly and slimy ones!). In class, they personally handled worms and discovered an earthworm’s ability to recycle our waste and transform it into a natural fertilizer. In the coming weeks, Year 2 will undertake the task of building and managing their own worm farm.

Today, we had an incursion (not excursion, due to the wet weather) run by Ranger Jamie Tours. We participated in lots of activities to investigate insects and environments. Through fun discussions and hands-on learning, we discovered how people interact with and care for these places, and the role technology plays in improving access. It was a thrilling and educational day that encouraged us all to appreciate and protect our world!
"I loved clapping for all the animals and learning about the black cockatoo." - Charlotte (2AH)
"I loved going out to the bike track and finding insects to put in a container. We got to do fun activities and I got to hold the penguin statue with Jos." - Frankie (2DM)
