T4, Week 1

Welcome To Term 4

We would like to welcome all our families to Term 4! We hope that you have enjoyed a relaxing break together and look forward to all the exciting events that will take place this term as we finish our learning, acknowledge everything that has happened in 2024 and celebrate the birth of Christ together.  We welcome Ms Trudy Henderson back to MCS after her trip around the world in Term 3. Mrs Louisa Ratcliffe is also taking Long Service Leave in Term 4 and we wish her a lovely, restful break during this time.  A big thank you goes to Mr Chris Pullen for covering all the classes of teachers who have taken Long Service Leave during 2024.  There are many things happening in the life of MCS during Term 4 and I encourage you to regularly check the key dates in the Newsletter as well as your Sentral Parent App in order to stay up to date with all events at MCS.

Uniform

Thank you to all our families who are assisting your children to wear the correct school uniform. This is an important part of being a member of the MCS community and preparing our students to have a mindset ready to learn. Please note that on Fridays our Primary community meet for Chapel and Assembly and students are required to wear their Formal Uniform for these occasions. Students are not permitted to wear their Sport Uniform to school on Fridays. If there are any issues with your child wearing the correct uniform please email their class teacher and also medowie@acc.edu.au. Primary Assembly and Chapel

Primary Chapel is held on Friday during odd weeks of the term and Primary Assembly is held on even weeks. Primary Awards are presented at Assembly to students who have performed in an outstanding way academically or have been serving the MCS community, and classes take it in turns to share some of the excellent work they have been doing. Parents are warmly invited to both Chapel and Assembly which are held in The Lighthouse beginning at 2:15pm.

2025 Primary Classes

As we move into Term 4 many students and their families are beginning to think about class placements for 2025. The development of classes for the new year is a very large and complex task that is taken very seriously by our Primary staff. A great deal of prayer and discussion amongst the teaching staff goes into which class students are placed. In making these decisions we consider the needs of all students and aim to place each student with at least one child that they have a strong connection with so that they can begin the new school year feeling comfortable. We request that parents trust our professional judgement and know that we will carefully place their child where we believe their needs will be best met. We are blessed with a very professional and talented Primary teaching team and no matter what class your child is placed in you can be confident that they have a dedicated teacher and they will be ‘Well Known, Well Loved and Well Taught’. 2025 Primary classes will be communicated to parents during the week ending 17th January, 2025.
