T2, Week 5
Term 2 Memory Verse
At MCS we consider the learning of scripture to be highly important in order to equip our students with God’s word and His promises for the rest of their lives. Psalm 119:11 declares:
"I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you."
When we take the time to learn key scriptures, no matter what happens in life, we are able to bring God’s word to our mind and apply His promises to our circumstances. As a continuation of our focus on hope, this term our Primary students are progressively learning Psalm 73: 23-26. Check in with your child each week and see how they are going with memorising this wonderful scripture about the hope we have in God.

Ministry Team
As I wander through our Primary playground and classrooms I am reminded of how blessed I am to be part of the beautiful community that is MCS. The love and care that our students show to each other is second-to-none and this is played out in so many different ways. This was particularly evident this week when our Stage 3 Ministry Team spent time with our Infants students reading them Bible stories and helping them to complete craft activities. This was a great opportunity for the Stage 3 students to develop their leadership skills and was also a fantastic opportunity for strong connections to develop between our older and younger students. We are excited to see our Stage 3 students involved in ministering to the younger students and it is lovely to see their faith in God grow and blossom as they share His love with those around them.

Celebrating Excellent Learning
We all enjoyed having 3/4Pa share some of their excellent learning with us at Assembly last week. The Primary students enjoyed seeing the students’ About Me presentations as well as listening to some very entertaining colonial stories and viewing some beautiful under the sea artwork. It was also great to view some video footage of the students engaged in sport games during their PE lesson. Keep up the great work 3/4Pa! We are looking forward to hearing about all the great work that you do in the second half of the year.

Primary Assembly and Chapel
With the conclusion of the musical we have returned to our usual cycle of Primary Chapel being held on Friday on odd weeks of the term and Primary Assembly being held on even weeks of the term. Primary Awards will be presented at Assembly to students who have performed in an outstanding way academically or have been serving the MCS Community, and classes will take it in turns to share some of the excellent work they have been doing in class with the rest of the school community. Parents are warmly invited to both Chapel and Assembly which will be held in The Lighthouse beginning at 2:15pm.
