T1, Week 5

Clean Up Australia Day

ree

Today Stage 2 and 3 were excited to  join thousands of students around Australia participating in Clean Up Australia Schools’ Day.

Clean Up Australia provided us with gloves and rubbish bags to help us get the job done. The Primary classes were assigned to an area of our school grounds to clean and they learned about playing their part in helping the environment by cleaning up together.  A great time was had by all and it was lovely to see our school looking so clean!

Peace Wise Program

As we enter the second half of Term 1 it is encouraging to see our students developing positive relationships with their peers and a deeper understanding of how humans experience conflict and how we can grow from working through this process in order to achieve peace.

At MCS we use the Peace Wise Program to help teach our students to respond to conflict positively, work through a peace making process and grow as people from it. Each day our students are incidentally reminded of the Slippery Slope of Conflict and how we have a choice when we respond to conflict.

Students are taught about the Peace Making Pizza when working through a conflict where they are encouraged to put God first. They are also taught about the 5As of Apology and the 4 Choices of Forgiveness to help bring reconciliation to their relationships.

Primary Term Overviews

Please check the Term Overview for your child’s stage below to see updates made about what is happening at school and what they need to bring.

Uniform

I encourage all families to familiarise themselves with the MCS Uniform Policy. When considering hair styles for your children please note that mullets and shaved patterns in the sides of the hair are not permitted at MCS. Hair should be tidy, not obstructing the face and any hair that is collar length or longer should be tied back on both boys and girls. If a student breaches the uniform policy in this area, parents will be contacted and asked to adjust their hair style.

We wish you all a very enjoyable and restful weekend with your families.
