T1, Week 4
Clean Up Australia Day

On Friday the 1st of March Stage 2 and 3 (Years 3-6) will join thousands of students around Australia participating in Clean Up Australia Schools’ Day. Clean Up Australia has provided us with gloves and rubbish bags. The six classes will be assigned an area of our school grounds to clean and they will learn about playing their part in helping the environment by cleaning up together.

Kindergarten Phonics Information Evening
It was lovely to have our Kindergarten parents join us for an evening of learning all about our Phonics programs in the first year of school. We are excited to partner with them in their child’s literacy journey. If parents have any questions from the evening or would like to know how to better support your child’s literacy development please feel free to contact their class teacher.

Infants Yowie Bag Tags
We are blessed to see so much growth in our school, with more children moving in and out of our grounds each day. Our number one priority is the safety of your children. There are many different avenues that our students take to return home in the afternoon and to ensure that they are safely delivered to the correct location we are introducing a new system. Last Friday each child in K - 2 brought home a Yowie Bag Tag. Please add your child’s name and class to the tag and then record the location that they need to go to at the end of the school day using the codes below. Please return your child’s Yowie Bag Tag to their class teacher on Monday and we will laminate them and attach them to your child’s bag. Thank you for helping us keep your child safe. If there is a change to your child’s regular routine, please inform us by emailing:

Musical
Please check the Sentral Parent App for all your child’s costume needs for the production. Musical costumes are due to your child’s class teacher this Monday, 26th February. For all musical updates please refer to the Music News.
Primary Term Overview Update
Please check the Term Overview for your child’s stage below to see this fortnight’s updates about what is happening at school and what they need to bring.
Uniform
I encourage all families to familiarise themselves with the MCS Uniform Policy. When considering hair styles for your children please note that mullets and shaved patterns in the sides of the hair are not permitted at MCS. Hair should be tidy, not obstructing the face and any hair that is collar length or longer should be tied back on both boys and girls. If a student breaches the uniform policy in this area, parents will be contacted and asked to adjust their hair style.
We wish you all a very enjoyable and restful weekend with your families.

Regards,
Mrs T Wright Baker
