We would like to extend all our Primary families a warm welcome to Term 4! We began Term 4 as a Primary Community reflecting on how to finish 2023 well. One of my favourite verses of scripture is:

Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.

I encourage all our Primary students to focus on being the best version of themselves that God created them to be. To keep their eyes fixed on Jesus and do their best in everything that they put their hand to. Excellent work in their learning, excellent contributions to clubs and cocurricular activities and excellent relationships with their peers and teachers. I am really looking forward to seeing how our students grow and thrive throughout Term 4.

Term 4 Staff Changes

This term we welcome Mrs Kathy Patton back from long service leave and wish Ms Diane Pietsch a restful break as she takes a term of long service leave. 2Pi are excited to have Mr Ben Jenkins teaching them this term and I look forward to seeing all the growth and learning that will take place in this class throughout this time.

Holiday Sport Achievements

Over the September holidays Noah Woolley was selected to play for Northern New South Wales Futsal in the National Schools Futsal Championships in Brisbane. The tournament took place over four days. Noah's team dominated the tournament remaining undefeated throughout the first 6 rounds and went into the finals on the top of the leaderboard. The finals were tense but the team remained undefeated and took out the Grand Final to win the tournament.

At the presentation evening, after Noah's team's success in the championships, he was selected as part of the Australian All Stars Futsal team to tour Fiji in July 2024. Congratulations for this great achievement Noah!

Finding Nemo Jr. Rehearsals

Our Primary students are very excited to begin rehearsing for Finding Nemo Jr. this term. Each Stage will have a scene in the musical that they are involved in. During Term 4 Musical rehearsals will be part of our students’ regular Music lessons each week as well as Stage group rehearsals during Period 6 on Fridays.

Summer Uniform

It has been lovely to see our students return to school dressed well in their Summer Uniform. Just a reminder that the Primary broad brim hat (not cap) must be worn everyday when students are outside the classroom. When wearing jewellery girls may wear a pair of plain studs or sleepers, a flat ring and a watch (smart watches should be set to school mode). Boys may wear a watch and have no visible piercings (clear studs can be worn). All collar length hair and longer whether a boy or girl should be neatly groomed and tied back for safety and hygiene using a blue, maroon or natural coloured hair tie. No makeup, artificial nails or nail polish should be worn with the school uniform at all. The link to our MCS Uniform policy can be found below. We thank parents for supporting the school in ensuring their child wears the correct uniform and takes pride in their neat and tidy presentation.
