It has been a huge week in our Primary Department. Stages 1, 2 and 3 have all been on exciting excursions that have made their learning for Term 3 come alive. Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered and assisted on these excursions. Your dedication and willingness to give of yourselves makes these days possible and memorable for our students.
Stage 3 Bathurst Camp
From Monday the 11th until Wednesday the 13th of September, Stage 3 enjoyed a trip to Bathurst. Leading up to their adventure, students researched the role significant individuals and groups played in shaping a colony. To bring their learning to life, Stage 3 stayed at Heritage Park, a historic sheep and cattle drome and visited Mt Panorama, the Motor, Fossil and Dinosaur Museum and Hartley Village. The highlights included panning for gold, star gazing and the bush dance (and of course, stopping at McDonalds on the way home). Stage 3 would like to thank all the parents who accompanied us for making this journey a very special one.

Stage 1 Timbertown Excursion
Stage 1 took a step back in time today when they travelled to Timbertown and learned about life in the new colony as part of their History studies in their Integrated Unit. The students had a great time dressing up in Colonial costumes and they rotated in groups trying their hand at gold panning, black-smithing and other old time trades. A special thank you goes to all the parents who helped on the day. Without your commitment to our children’s education and willingness to give of yourselves days like today would not be possible.

Prep Henny Penny Hatching
Our Prep students have had a great opportunity over the last fortnight to care for some young chicks and watch eggs hatch into chicks while being warmed in an incubator. This has been a wonderful opportunity to learn about life cycles and how to care for the needs of a young animal. Some students have even chosen to adopt some of these chicks and take them home with them to become part of their family.

Primary Bush Dance
A warm welcome is extended to all our families to join our Primary students for an MCS Bush Dance night. This exciting event will take place on Friday, 13th October (Term 4, Week 1 ) in The Lighthouse from 5:30 - 7:00pm. Come along in all your Bush Dance attire to join in with the dances that our students have been learning during their Physical Education classes. The entrance fee will be a gold coin donation and food and coffee vans will be available on the night. Our Primary Student Leaders will also be holding a White Elephant Stall. All funds will be donated to a charity that will be announced closer to the date.
