Prep Presentation
Congratulations to our Wednesday/Thursday/ Friday Prep students who were presented with their 2025 Learning Portfolios this morning. It was lovely to have their parents join us to share this very special occasion and to watch our Prep students perform some entertaining items. We look forward to seeing them continue their educational journey into Kindergarten in 2026.

Kinder Orientation
This Wednesday we enjoyed a lovely morning welcoming our Kindergarten 2026 students and their families to MCS. The children experienced an exciting morning of learning in the Kindergarten rooms with our teachers and they were very proud to show everyone their Mrs Wishy Washy bubble prints. It was great to get to know our new parents as they took part in a parent information session with key Primary staff. We look forward to journeying with these families throughout their child’s time at MCS.

Celebrating Infants STEM
Infants STEM has been a hive of learning this year. Kindergarten students have broadened their understanding of the topics of STEM and learned how to use their devices to demonstrate their understanding. Year 1 have learned all about Hardware and Software and how these components of IT work together. Last week, Year 1 were presented with a ‘mystery item’ to marvel at. Students were surprised and excited to discover a tiny robot (hardware) and that they would soon begin to learn how to ‘code’ this little device. The children were amazed that coding was a way to ‘give instructions’ to the robot and that this is similar to what software does on our devices. The lesson was alight with sounds of wonder and discovery as they located buttons and saw lights turn on and wheels move! Year 2, having been exposed to this Ozobot at the end of last year, have learned all about coding in various modes and for various reasons over the course of 2025. They culminated their Ozobot learnings with an additional device called an ‘Ozobot Crawler’ and learned how coding with the Crawler requires reverse thinking. If you have a child in Year 2, please ask them what that means!
