T3, Week 8

Stage 2 Red Cross Pillow Case Workshop

On Monday, 15th September Stage 2 enjoyed a visit from the Red Cross. The Red Cross workers engaged the students in a Pillow Case workshop where they explored the idea of natural disasters, how we can prepare for them and then be resilient and recover afterwards. The students all participated enthusiastically and made their own pillow cases.

Celebrating Primary Clubs

Basketball Club

This term, students in Basketball Club have enjoyed a variety of fun and engaging activities while developing their ball-handling and shooting skills. One of the most popular games has been King of the Circle, where each student dribbles their own ball within a designated area while using their spare hand to try and knock other players' balls out of the circle. It's a great way to build coordination, awareness, and quick decision-making – all while having a lot of fun.

Bike Club

Despite the wet weather this term, we have had some good times riding our bikes. It’s been wonderful to see students of all ages and abilities making the most of our very own track. Please note Bike Club will not run next week and will start up again in Week 2 of Term 4. This is a great opportunity to take bikes home for a good wash and some much-needed maintenance before we get rolling again next term! Bicycle NSW recommends regular bike maintenance to keep bikes safe and performing at their best. Depending on how often you ride, they suggest checking tyre pressure, brakes, and chain lubrication every fortnight, and having a full tune-up by a qualified mechanic every 6–12 months.

Chess Club

Chess Club has been full of energy and enthusiasm this term! Our regular Friday sessions continue to be a highlight for many students, and recently we’ve also added Thursday tryouts for next term’s HRIS competition. These tryouts have been highly competitive, with students showing great focus and determination to be part of the team. It’s been wonderful to see so many students getting involved and enjoying the challenge together.

Dance Club

This term in Infants Dance Club, we have taken the opportunity to take part in guided dance videos, including Danny Go, Just Dance Kids and worship songs. It has been a blast!

In Primary Dance Club we have a smaller group where, after a long hiatus due to the rain we have just begun to choreograph a dance to prepare to celebrate Christmas.

Primary Awards

Congratulations to all our students who have received Primary Awards this fortnight. These awards are presented to students who have excelled academically, have shown outstanding effort in their work and have served the MCS Primary Community by living out the C.H.R.I.S.T values.
