T2, Week 9

Starstruck Excursion

Last Friday our Stage 5 and Year 11 Music classes travelled to the Newcastle Entertainment Centre to watch a performance of Starstruck 2026 - Out of the Ordinary. This performance involved over 4000 students from around the Hunter Region singing, dancing and acting in a wide variety of musical items.

Our students were amazed by the high quality of each of the performers and loved watching and hearing an orchestra and large choir performing live, some of them for the first time. They were inspired to practise their instruments more, play a wider range of instruments and show more enthusiasm when they perform on stage.

“I really enjoyed listening to and watching Bohemian Rhapsody because of its great guitarists who played really well and the dancers with the big prop microphones who danced along with the song after the solo.”

- Laeken

“I really enjoyed the songs Creep and Vienna. The three part harmonies in Creep were beautiful and the dancer performing alongside them was amazing.”

- Tiana

“I loved the music, it was amazing. I knew every song, but my favourite song was Bohemian Rhapsody.”

- Kaden

2026 MCS Musical: MIDNIGHT

Last Friday, we witnessed the coming together of all the components in Act One and are excited with the achievements so far! During our holiday rehearsals and Term 3, we will continue to refine and develop Act One as well as learn Act Two. Exciting times!

Our next Act One cast rehearsal will be held on Wednesday 24th June from 3:15-5:00pm. Pick up will be in the hall. We again ask that each student brings their afternoon tea as well as a quiet activity (e.g. a book, some colouring, a quiet card game) to occupy themselves during the rehearsal as there will be times they will not be involved in what is occurring on stage.

Who is required?

  • All Act One Leads and Ensembles and Backstage Crew.

  • Act One Ensembles include:

    • Townspeople

    • YOLO

    • Kings Crew

Who is NOT required?
